“The Legend of Ranger, The Reindeer Who Couldn’t Fly” cited as “among the best in family-friendly media, products and services”
McLean, Virginia: October 20, 2014
Opus One Studios, publisher of creative products supporting worthy causes, announced today that its new children’s holiday story, “The Legend of Ranger, The Reindeer Who Couldn’t Fly,” has received the prestigious Silver Award from Mom’s Choice Awards® (MCA), an international awards program that recognizes authors, inventors, companies, parents and others for their efforts in creating quality family-friendly media, products and services. Written by Alan Salisbury, a retired Army general and technology executive, and beautifully illustrated by Roberta Baird, The Legend of Ranger was released by Jabberwocky Books late last year and has already received rave reviews for its creativity and originality.
“We’re honored and excited to receive this prestigious award and the enhanced recognition it provides,” said author Alan Salisbury. “While Ranger was released too late to fully catch last year’s holiday season, we’re very hopeful that 2014 will be his year to fly into the hearts of America. This is especially important to us, both for the inspirational message Ranger brings to children everywhere, and because 100% of our profits go to benefit kids with cancer at Mass General Hospital,” he added.
The Legend of Ranger is available in softcover or ebook from amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com, and from select retailers. An audio book version is available on iTunes, and includes as a bonus Ranger’s song, “Dream & Believe.” A deluxe box set, including the book, the CD with audio book and song, and a plush Ranger toy, can also be purchased from the Opus One Studios web site, opusonestudios.com.
